JLT|Online originally started life as Pavilion Insurance in January 1997. The first product launched was Musicguard, offering musical instrument and equipment insurance.
The future of the business was to develop niche market opportunities as well as building an extensive range of policy options for musical instruments and equipment.
In late 1998 Cycleguard was launched, providing insurance for cyclists and their bikes, and then later in 1999 our camera insurance solution for photographers followed under the title Photoguard.
In late 2003 it was decided that to aid further expansion, the holding company, Pavilion Insurance Network Plc would float on the alternative investment market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange. The company listed on 17th June 2004.
Pavilion continued to increase their range of products including gadget insurance, laptop insurance, golf insurance and re-enactor insurance as well as expanding existing products with greater options and flexibility.
This aggressive expansion soon caught the attention of quite a few large insurance businesses. In June 2007 JLT Corporate Risks Ltd agreed to acquire Pavilion and the company changed to JLT|Online in October 2007.
